Botox treatment that works to reverse the visible signs of aging by relaxing the muscles beneath the skin's surface. Botox is the only treatment that can effectively prevent the formation of wrinkles. Typically, wrinkles form over time as a result of the repeated muscle contractions, or facial expressions, we've made over the years. After Botox at Casey Family Medical Center, you can say goodbye to wrinkles and frown lines.
Results are instant after receiving Botox at Casey Family Medical Center. In some cases, it takes around 7-14 days to see the full results. Patients typically experience results for up to three months following the procedure. We suggest repeating treatment to maintain the results of Botox.
Botox efficiently blocks the muscle contractions in the face. Without Botox there to prevent this contraction, the muscles would continue to form wrinkles. Botox works to relax the muscles so wrinkles aren't able to form as quickly. It counteracts the contraction and allows your skin to look and feel radiant.
Post procedure instructions? We advise every patient who receives a Botox treatment to abstain from activity for 4 hours.
Be careful not to lay down or apply pressure to your face.
What is the treatment like?
Treatments are quick and minimally invasive. Discomfort is also minimal. No anesthesia is required, although very sensitive clients may opt to numb the area with a cold pack or numbing cream prior to injection. There is no down time.
Will I be able to make facial expressions?
Yes. Of course you are looking for visible results, but Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you've "had work done." The muscle activity that causes, for example, frown lines between the brows are temporarily reduced by Botox. After the treatment you can still frown and look surprised, just without the wrinkles and lines between your brows.
How many units of Botox will I need?
The number of units needed per area can vary depending upon the desired outcome and degree of lines/wrinkles being treated. On average, the forehead for example, may need 12-40 units. The best way to determine how many units are needed is to set up a face to face consultation.
Do you dilute your Botox?
Botox comes from Allergan in freeze dried powdered form. Therefore, it must have a dilute to make it injectable. Our practice uses the recommended mixture ration, which 1 cc per 100u. This reduces the risk of problems and adds to longevity.
